I get these questions a lot, so I’ve made a FAQ page! If your question isn’t answered here, feel free to pop me a message. I don’t tend to answer anonymous questions, but I do note them.

Q. Will you do a commission for me?/How much are commissions?
A. Unfortunately, I don’t have time for commissions at this moment in time – I’m drawing a graphic novel and that takes up most of my time! If I do have any spare time for commissions I will shout very loudly about it on my twitter page and my facebook page.

Q. What tools do you use to make your comics?
A. I do everything on a Cintiq!!! Cintiq and Photoshop and I love it. I USED TO pencil everything with a mechanical pencil, line with a bic biro and then tidy up and colour on Photoshop. Now I just wanna marry my cintiq. Me and this Cintiq forever!

Q. Where do you get your comics printed?
A. Comic Printing UK printed most of my older books, I highly recommend them to print your comics. Great communication, price and turnaround time. comicprintinguk.com

All of my hardback books were printed through ajspprintingservices.com.

Q. Are you going to update RentQuest/PizzaWitch any time soon??
A. I want to!! My time is tied up at the moment in other projects though. I have written a second RentQuest story that I am itching to get drawn up. I’ll tweet/post about it a lot though if I find the time to continue either of those comics, so you’ll know! 🙂

Q. What other comics have inspired you?
A. I was an avid reader of Sonic The Comic as a kid, but became disinterested with comics in my early teens. Around 17, I was introduced to Scott Pilgrim and discovered Liz Prince, which were both big inspirations for me to start drawing my own comics. I currently am feeling very inspired by Zac Gorman’s work (If you haven’t already, you should read Costume Quest) although I’m not sure that particularly reflects in my own work! I also find cartoons to be very inspiring. I am currently actively watching Rick and Morty, Steven Universe, Gravity Falls, Clarence and Harvey Beaks.

Q. What’s your job?
A. This! I write and draw comics for a living.

Q. Do you have any advice for someone who is new to drawing comics?
A. Don’t wait around/hold off starting your comic, just throw yourself into it. It’s truly the best way to learn. Drawing a webcomic on a regular update schedule is good because it means you have to be frequently making things. Comic conventions make very good deadlines to get comics finished!

Q. Are you Bee from Bee and Puppycat/grown up Mabel Pines?
A. Yes, yes i am

Q. How did you and Stef meet?
A. This is a long story, but the short version is through a mutual love of Johnny Foreigner.

Q. What music do you listen to?
A. www.last.fm/user/imdracula
(My favourite bands are The Mountain Goats, Madeline & Barenaked Ladies)

Q. Why do you draw yourself with hairy legs?
A. Because my legs are hairy most of the time??? I get this message a lot ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
The best bit is I actually occassionally shave my legs but i never shave my pits and nobody ever asks me about those

Q. What videogames do you play?
A. I basically play Binding of Isaac:Rebirth and Don’t Starve on repeat
Stef hates it. Stef plays a lot of different videogames. He would like me to play a lot of different videogames too, but I can’t stop solely playing Binding of Isaac/Don’t Starve.
